I wanted to extend a HUGE thank you to parent and student volunteers for helping make  a wonderful Book Fair last month. Thank you to all of the Mann families for attending the Book Fair and supporting the Horace Mann Library.  We raised $2,000.00 cash (for ASB funds) and $1,573.47 in Scholastic dollars to help update our collection in the library. Teachers were overwhelmed by your generosity and each classroom received a minimum of 6 new books.  The "All for Books" program earned a total of $579.23, which helped purchase 49 additional books for staff at Horace Mann. The money raised from All for Books was used to purchase 49 additional books for staff, including ELL, Learning Center classes, Safety Net, Speech, and Music.  In addition, Scholastic matched the $579.23 to give books to children in need nationally.

One of my favorite parts of my job is seeing the excitement generated by books.  I was inspired by the wonderful stories families shared  as they shopped for books to contribute to classrooms. Teaching is one of the most rewarding careers and it's all because of you and the wonderful Horace Mann community.
