The Lake Washington School District provides accelerated academic programs for students beginning in kindergarten that are designed to meet the learning styles and needs of students with superior intellectual, academic, and creative abilities. Highly Capable Services (Current Grade: Kindergarten)
Kindergarten-3rd Grade Highly Capable Services support the most highly capable students in kindergarten through 3rd grade. The program provides students a rigorous and challenging curriculum in their neighborhood schools. It addresses the needs of students identified as having exceptional cognitive and academic ability.
To learn more about the program and the selection process, parent information sessions are scheduled for October 3 at 4:30-6 p.m. or 7-8:30 p.m. (both sessions are the same) at Lake Washington High School Performing Arts Center, 12033 NE 80th Street in Kirkland. Quest Highly Capable Services (Current Grades 1-4)
Elementary Quest Highly Capable Program serves highly capable students in grades 2-5. The full-time program places students in a Quest classroom full-time, five days a week, while the enrichment pull-out program enables students to attend a Quest pull-out classroom one day a week.
