The Horace Mann PTSA is hosting the Math Challenge Tournament at 6 p.m. Thursday, December 7, in Art and Science room. Registration for this tournament is through Ellipsis Academy. Registration will close on November 15.
The Math Challenge Tournament is a national mathematics tournament open to students in all 50 states who are in grade 2-5 students. It provides a fun opportunity for students to show case their skills in a variety of math topics. Math problems were carefully designed and selected with two focuses in mind: math fundamentals and problem solving skills, with the goal to motivate students to do the best they can in both skills. Students in the top 10% of all scores will be invited to the master round that will be held in Feb/Mar of 2018. The master round registration will be by invitation-only based on the results of the first round.
The cost to participate is $20. Click here to register. All registered students will receive a certificate of participation and a keepsake.
