This month our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders will be participating in a survey on their social emotional learning (SEL). This short survey will ask students to respond to questions about how they approach learning in school. They will be prompted to also reflect on their own actions and thoughts as well as their general experience at our school.
The survey topics align with Washington State’s SEL Benchmarks:

• Self-Awareness  
• Self-Management 
• Self-Efficacy 
• Social Awareness
• Social Management
• Social Engagement

The results from these surveys will be used school-wide to plan and deliver lessons using Second Step, our SEL curriculum, as well as plan targeted, specific interventions and schoolwide efforts that will support your child’s success in school. 
The questions that students will answer are research-backed, valid and reliable.
