On October 2nd we welcomed a very special guest to speak to the kids for Disability Awareness Month, Kacey McCallister.

Kacey lost both legs in an accident at the age of 6 but has not let that stop him from accomplishing anything and everything in life. Try as the kids did to think of something he couldn’t do, he showed them time and again how he played soccer, basketball, football, and became a very decorated cross country runner and wrestler in school. Kacey speaks a lot about challenges - everyone has them, but for each person they might look different. Regardless of your challenge, you need to just take it one step at a time, and you will succeed. His motto is ‘Anything is possible’, and when applying it to himself ads ‘Nothing is impossible, I just haven’t figured out how to do it yet’.

Kacey’s enthusiasm for life is infectious, and there is no question he shared that with the students. We are so grateful to have been able to host him! If you would like to learn more about Kacey please visit his website.
