The Valentine’s Day Post Office will be open Friday, February 8th thru Tuesday, February 12th during lunch recesses and before school (8:30-8:45 a.m.) and after school (3:20-3:40 p.m.) The Horace Mann Reading Advisory (students in grades 4-5) will be selling valentines (.25 each or 10 for $2.00 or buy a class set for $4.00) to help raise money to benefit The Star of Hope School in Kenya, again this year. Last year, students and staff at Horace Mann raised $588.00 for The Star of Hope School and we enjoyed a special visit from author/illustrator Dana Sullivan and the Star of Hope School director and founder Leonard Muyelele. It was an experience to remember as Leonard thanked the students of Horace Mann and shared a slide show of all the students we helped with the monies raised.  Please consider supporting the Star of Hope School by purchasing valentines at the Valentine’s Day Post Office. Just think….when you purchase from the Valentine’s Day Post Office you are helping provide educational resources to the village of Bungoma and children who attend The Star of Hope School in Kenya, Africa. Donations are always welcomed.

We are so thankful to provide students a global giving experience and are excited to present this donation and card to Dana and the Star of Hope Centre. For more information about the Star of Hope Centre please visit
