Join the PTSAContact Us

This event is totally free! You don’t need to submit a project to attend. The entire Horace Mann community is encouraged to join us to explore, discover and enjoy. It promises to be a fun night packed with fascinating presentations cool things to explore. The project and activities are still up for you to enjoy.

Information about Science Projects:

There is no cost to participate or register in the science fair.  Registering early helps us make sure we have enough tables and space for all the projects.  You can choose 1 of 3 types of projects.

1. Experient - come up with a question, choose one variable to change, and observe and document the outcome. (ie the scientific method)

2. Informational - Younger students or first-time participants could create an “informational project”, which shows a student’s mastery of a specific area of science. e.g. "The 5 senses", "The Planets", "Mineral Harness Scale", etc.

3. Demonstration Learn about a scientific principal and demonstrate or explain the principal.  "Bernoulli's Principal", "Capillary Action", etc.

All participants will be asked to bring a display board, model, or other visual representation of their project.  Below is an example of a display board layout:

Questions to Ask: To help people visiting your project, create a list of questions that you are ready to answer.  Here is a form you can print and fill out to have on your table.
