  • Keeps a record and issues all funds received and distributed through the PTSA
  • Prepares a monthly financial report for the board of directors
  • Serves as chair of the budget committee and presents the budget to the members
  • Works with the executive committee to collect and count money from PTSA events, fundraisers, programs, and activities
  • Ensures tax returns and other state and federal compliance and liability insurance forms are filed
  • Submits records to the financial review committee twice per year
  • Oversees Treasurer Chairs: Box Top Chair and Financial Review Chair

Time Commitment: 15-25 hours per month, including meetings and coordination with the board and chair leads.

  • Oversee and coordinate PTSA community building events including, but not limited to, Bike Derby, Movie Night, Dance, Family Fun Night, etc.
  • Coordinate with communications team to provide the general membership with messaging regarding PTSA fundraising efforts and community event information
  • Work alongside treasurer(s) in planning event budget expenses and fundraising goals
  • Propose, plan and manage fundraising campaigns that are aligned with the PTSA and school to meet the yearly operating budget
  • Monitor fundraising campaigns alongside the treasurer(s) including, but not limited to Colt Corral Fund, corporate partners, spirit wear, school pool
  • Oversee and assist committee chairs: Back to School Event Chair (Colt Corral), Dance Chair, Movie Night Chair, Fundraising Chair, Spirit Wear Chair, 5th Grade Promotion Chair, Family Fun Night Chair.

Time Commitment: 15-20 hours per month, including meetings and coordination with the board and chair leads.

  • Oversees Communication Chairs: Chairs under communication include: Newsletter Chair, Social Media Chair, Website Chair, Yearbook Chair.

Time Commitment: 10+ hours per month, including meetings and coordination with the board and chair leads.

  • Leads efforts to support students, families, and the broader school community through advocacy and engagement initiatives with a focus on inclusivity across gender, race, LGBTQ+, abilities and other identities. This role supports the following initiatives and oversees their corresponding committees:
  • Emergency Preparedness – Ensures the PTSA supports school safety and readiness.
  • Legislative – Liaises with the district PTSA council and supports their local/state advocacy efforts.
  • Sustainability – Promotes environmental efforts within the school community.
  • Colt Community Caring – Supports underserved students through scholarships and resources.
  • Special Needs – Advocates for and supports students with special needs and their families within the Horace Mann community. This position works to ensure that all students have access to the resources and support they need to thrive academically and socially.
  • Quest – Supports the needs of highly capable students.

Time Commitment: 5-10 hours per month, including meetings and coordination with the board and chair leads.

  • Oversees Enrichment Chairs: after school enrichment chair, assemblies chair, math chair, science fair chair, book fair chair.
  • 4-8 hours per month

Time Commitment: 10 hours per month, including meetings and coordination with the board and chair leads
