CLASSROOM LEADS

A Classroom Lead is a caregiver volunteer who helps coordinate classroom parties and activities throughout the school year. Each classroom has one lead who works closely with the teacher to organize fun celebrations for students.

Role Overview

• One lead per classroom - Must be a caregiver of a student in the class
• Organize two parties per year - Harvest Party and Valentine's Party
• Recruit and coordinate helpers - Build a team of caregiver volunteers
• Work with the teacher - Coordinate party schedules and activities

Key Responsibilities

Before the Party

• Meet with teacher to discuss party schedule and structure
• Recruit classroom helpers from caregiver volunteers
• Plan activities appropriate for grade level
• Coordinate snacks and treats (check for allergies)
• Work with classroom helpers to gather necessary supplies

During the Party

• Set up party activities and decorations
• Coordinate classroom helpers at activity stations
• Help distribute snacks and treats
• Ensure all students are included and engaged
• Clean up after the party

Party Planning Tips

• Plan 3-4 activity stations to keep students engaged
• Keep activities simple and age-appropriate
• Always check for food allergies before planning snacks
• Have extra supplies on hand
• Recruit enough helpers (suggested: 1 per activity station)
• Consider having a craft that students can take home

Getting Started

1. Contact your child's teacher to introduce yourself as Classroom Lead
2. Get caregiver contact information for recruiting helpers
3. Mark party dates on your calendar
4. Start planning 3-4 weeks before each party
5. Connect with other Classroom Leads for ideas and support
