The Horace Mann PTSA Grant Program provides funding for projects that enrich student learning, strengthen our school community, and expand opportunities for students. Whether you're a teacher, specialist, staff member, or community member partnering with a Horace Mann staff sponsor, we encourage you to apply.

ELIgibiLity

Projects must:

• Have a Horace Mann faculty or staff sponsor
• Include a clear plan and budget Supplement, not replace, school or district funding
• Be submitted by the deadline

2026-2027 Grant timeLine

• Applications Open — September 8, 2026
• Applications Due — October 2, 2026
• Review & Scoring — October 5-23
• Board Recommendation @ Committee Meeting — October 29th
• PTSA Membership Vote @ PTSA General Meeting— November 12th 
• Funding Notifications Sent — Week of November 16

Questions & Answers:

Q: How will projects be reviewed?

A: Our Grant Committee will be made up of a Grant Chair, Co-Presidents, Co-Treasurers, and at minimum one general member of the Mann PTSA. Each committee member will review and score applications separately according to this rubric. 

Q: What types of grants have been approved in the past?

A: The general membership of the Mann PTSA has approved a variety of past grants, including: updated PE equipment, musical instruments, library books, updated safety equipment (e.g. walkie talkie radios), a fish tank for the new salmon rearing program.
