October is Microsoft's Giving Campaign. If you are a Microsoft employee, or if your company is hosting a similar campaign, a great way to participate is by contributing to our PTSA and school community.

Many companies will match both monetary contributions and volunteer hours, which could mean extra cash for our PTSA to support programs and purchases for our school and classrooms. If you've contributed to Pass the Hat and your company offers corporate matching, please submit for the match! Likewise, if your company matches volunteer hours with donations, please make sure you log your volunteer hours.

Our PTSA spends roughly $115 per student on art, classroom support, events for our school community, and other programs, and donations made to the PTSA are tax deductible. Where does your contribution go? A few examples include: 

• $5,200 - Art Program: Elementary art education in LWSD is almost entirely dependent on PTSA funds! 
• $7,600 - Online Learning Tools - AR Reading, Math Facts, Star Prog, IXL and Raz Kids 
• $8,000 - Teacher Classroom Grants 
• $3,700 - School Enrichment Activity Support 
• $1,600 - Assemblies to enrich and educate through entertainment
