Emergency Preparedness (or E-Prep) is responsible for ensuring that Students and Faculty are properly equipped to effectively manage any emergency, natural or man-made, that may impact Horace Mann during school hours.

Health screening day happens once a year at Horace Mann. The students are screened for routine vision and hearing issues. The school nurse reviews results and lets parents know if there are any vision or hearing issues with their child.

We need your help on this day, TBD.

No prior experience is necessary and the training only takes a few minutes in the morning before students come in. This has been a fun event in the past, and parents love seeing their kids come through the lines. Get involved! Many helpers lighten the workload and helps get the job done quickly!

Over the course of the school year, the Hospitality Committee shows appreciation for our teachers and staff. Typically parents prepare treats and snacks or other gestures to let the teachers and staff know how much we appreciate their work with our kids. Our big event is Staff Appreciation Week, a five day celebration honoring our amazing teachers and staff!

This exciting program involves all 3rd grade students at Horace Mann. Upon completing their multiplication facts, our students will have the opportunity to kneel before our royal Mrs. Spaulding to be knighted and honored with their classmates.

The Transition team is a group Horace Mann families that have come together to help other Horace Mann families in times of need.

We provide food and gift cards during Thanksgiving and Christmas, but also support families throughout the year, whenever there is a need (could be anything from meals, transportation, clothing, school supplies, running errands, etc.).

The Horace Mann PTSA sponsors the Enrichment Program to offer before and after school activities to the Horace Mann student community. The PTSA designs and selects the classes to complement and enhance the school curriculum and to provide interesting and engaging activities for our students. Information about classes will be posted here and in the Horace Mann Newsletter. Do you like the Math Challenges? Then you’ll love Math Club!

Math Club will meet once a week during lunch recess on Monday’s at school.

The Horace Mann PTSA Science Fair is held each year in the spring, and all students are invited to participate by entering a science project.

“Art of Discovery”, a traveling exhibit sponsored by the Junior League and the Bellevue Art Museum, brings artwork to our school each spring. Volunteers lead discussions about the artwork in the Library. Training is provided!

“Reflections” is a National PTSA program where students take a given theme and produce an art reflection of that theme. Projects can be visual arts, dance, film, photography, music, or dance.
